Working for the Weekend

January 9, 2010

Another day of craziness in the life of Kirby. Good news this time it was single project not trying to fit thousands into the day. The wonderful wife had a houseful of friends over for a Mary Kay promotion last night and me and the girls were exiled to the parents house for the evening. This is normally not a big deal as they have a very nice house with great guest quarters.

Unfortunately, I was relegated to the basement bedroom without any audio sleep aids (my sound machine) or enough blankets. It was much too noisy and cool to get any quality sleep when you aren't used to sleeping alone. Consequently I spent the bulk of the day playing dj in a half stupor. On the plus side I have given myself permission to enjoy an evening of mindless television and a chance to watch my dear old Hoosiers give it a go.

In the process I saw the newest commercial for Lens Crafters. Under the category of what were they thinking the people in charge of their advertising should either start paying attention to what their ad agency is doing or maybe look for other work. This commercial has a lovely young lady discussing how excited she was that she was able to update her look before her upcoming class reunion by getting new glasses. Really? New weight loss system, sure. Fitness center, possibly. Styling salon, believable. But really, glasses are going to make the high school reunion perfect. I find this very hard to believe.

In the words of Tigger: "tata for now!"
